El Salvador is the boldest bet in our portfolio, and it is being won right now: a territorial tax system, with foreign income exempt since the 2024 reform, the US dollar as legal tender since 2001, non-CRS and non-CARF and a crypto-friendly environment. Since Decreto 531, temporary residence requires only 90 days of presence a year instead of nine months, which puts the country among the most flexible residence countries. Your path is clearly tiered: temporary residence with a work permit via the rentista or investor route, clean renewals, permanent residence after three years and the regular route to naturalisation after five years; dual citizenship is allowed. To be honest: El Salvador is a Plan A for people who really come, not a low-presence backup, and its young stability rests on a strongly personalised power structure.
